bulls & boots

Two weeks ago I went to the Norco Rodeo with Dom and Kasia. We met Jon and Noelle & Co. at Boot Barn. A few of the guys were clean out of country western gear and wanted to fit in with the rodeo crowd :) Because of this, we got to the rodeo a bit late and didn't really get to see much action.

I love this pic. Sorta looks like it could be the cover to their country album ;)
"If you wanna live the good life, better put a girl in it." (specifically THAT one)
:)
On the left, we have an ad for Boot Barn...yes, everything these men have on is from that store. On your right, we have a booze hound and a rodeo clown.
"Cowboy" and his nag
I don't even know how I was still walking at this point. This is my first time attempting to line dance. Kasia knows her stuff and was trying to help out Noelle, Aron and me.
Love you...thanks for putting up with my crazy shenanigans that night!
And thanks for being the designated drive. I'll reclaim my DD position, though :)

manly looks like this

Dom and I went to the park to watch Noelle play in her first softball game. I was thinking of joining it, too...but it's been YEARS since I've played. I want to practice at the batting cages, and maybe play catch at the park with Dom to refresh my skills :)

During the game, we sat with Jon and little man, Chase. I just love watching men interact with babies and children. I always catch myself watching dads with their kids at the school I work at, when they drop them off in the morning or pick them up in the afternoon. It's so sweet :) So, watching Dom play with and help out Chase always puts a big smile on my face...and heart :)

Mmmmm....watermelon juice :)

Bestie visit

One of my BEST friends, Jason, just moved to Chicago last week for a few years. He WAS living in San Diego, so about a month ago I headed down south with Alain and my brother to party it up with him and his GF, Marissa, before he takes off. We drove down on a Saturday afternoon, drank for a bit at Jason's place with a few of his friends, then cabbed it to Henry's in the Gaslamp District downtown. Here, Marissa and I keep the party going with a few drinks :)

It's the beginning of the night...we're still somewhat "together"
Attention gentlemen: THIS is your brain on Joose! Chris and Alain downed a ton of it at the house. Apparently, these ladies were buying the guys drinks! How backwards.
I have so many pics that are similar to this. This must be where we all started to fall apart...and our memories are beginning to shut down :)
We're always a dance party!
Chris' arm is all wet...I know a few of us dropped and broke glasses through the night...
...and we were all over eachother...and all over the place. All of the above probably explains why some of us were individually escorted out of the bar.
SORRY FOR PARTYING!
Not only did my brother get kicked out (and I followed), but a few of our guys were physically brought down by security outside and cuffed...but let go once it was discovered they are Seals :) Chris then almost got in a fight with a "bouncer" at the place I used to work at for name calling...the guy wouldn't let Chris use the potty after hours, and he did NOT like that. I hardly remember the cab ride back, or passing out on Jason's couch. I felt like CRAP the next day.

Neither of us knew we had opened a store in Ocean Beach. We bought Acai bowls before heading home. I love San Diego.

Music at the zoo

Over 3 weeks ago, I went to experience some live music at the Los Angeles Zoo with Alain and a few of his friends. I had never heard about this, and unfortunately this night was the last of the summer for this year. I believe they did this all through the month of July. There were a few bands (indie-like) that were set up at different parts of the front of the zoo.

You're able to bring your own food and drinks (yes, alcohol) and stroll around as you please. Alain and I stopped at Trader Joe's on the way. I had a sushi dinner and Alain got salad...both of us sharing wine in some mini wine glasses that his mom packed for us..so cute :)
These 2 were singing a duet of one of my favorite songs, "Falling Slowly", from the soundtrack to Once. It's so lovely, and so were they :)
I'm definitely going to take advantage of this event next year. I highly recommend checking it out...even better if you have a love bug to take, it was quite the romantic setting...also perfect for families.

Happy Birthday, Anoosheh

One of my closest friends, Anoosheh, celebrated her 26th birthday (3 weeks ago) at The Griffin in Silverlake...uh, I think? Anyways, it was my first time there and I loved it. I liked the ambiance and the crowd wasn't bad to look at either. I went with Kasia, Alain and Steve (he was in town that weekend from AZ).Alain and I were putting out the vibe...
...and Anoosheh was LOVING her bday shots ;)
Love you, nooshy :)
