I <3 shopping...

...even ONLINE!

This site has some pretty rad attire. I've ordered a ton of stuff from here. There are some crazy discounts and sales around the holidays. A few of my favorite brands they offer are Obey, Nixon, WeSC, Burton and RVCA. There are lots of other interesting looks and items, too...for both men and women. Check it out.

I bought this necklace for about $35 and it's currently priced at the site for $90. They had so many discounts last Christmas at around 80% off your entire order.

Halloween Horror Nights

I'm SO excited to go to this again this year! Opening night is this Friday night and hopefully I'll be there. I used to go to Knott's Scary Farm every year for the past few years and thought it was so great. It was cool at first, but started getting real crowded which made lines long and walks through the mazes real slow.

I had my first Halloween Horror Nights experience last year and WHOA..it blows Knott's out of the water. There are only 4 mazes but they're huge and are so decked out that it's worth it. I mean, it's Universal Studios! They have access to tons of cool and realistic movie-worthy props and make-up and the scary dressed up "monsters" are way more into it. The tram ride takes you to an outdoor maze where you have to walk on a dirt road through a bunch of scenes that are taken out of scary movies and right by the Psycho house. They also have a really funny and inappropriate Bill & Ted's show that you don't want to miss and their "scare zones" are intense. I was terrified..running around and screaming left and right. I can't wait to go again.

Lady Gaga's...

...performance at the 2009 MTV VMA's was brilliant. Bring on the shock factor.

Wait for the 30 second preview to pass before Lady Gaga comes up. The movie preview looks nuts....scary!

Wagon Wheel Country Music Festival

Because of the heat, we showed up mid-afternoon on Saturday and just chilled in the hotel until the rest of the girls got there. Heidi and I had an interesting time trying to make peanut butter sandwiches without a knife (so we used the handle of her hair brush) and cutting a lime for our coronas (using mini scissors and then upgraded to a small swiss army knife)...and of course engaging in some serious girl talk.
Overall, Saturday night was pretty fun...from what Heidi and I remember. We were movin' and groovin' around the stadium checking out vendors and other sights to see. After cabbing it back to the hotel, we had a 2am mission to find a Denny's. I had the bright idea to attempt to climb and hop over an 8 foot wall so that I wouldn't have to walk around the block...shortest distance would have been in a straight line right over that wall. Well, of course once i got to the top of the wall it was a much further drop on the other side....and yes, I fell right off into a bush. The best part was that the wall wasn't very long...there wasn't much of it to walk around in the first place, so Heidi just strolled right around it to make sure I was ok. We never made it to Denny's.
We also remember some pool time fun. I believe we snuck into the jacuzzi where a few of the ladies decided to remove some articles of clothing. Soon after that, the pool lights came on. Hmm....coincidence?? Doubtful.
Before getting into bed, some of the other girls hung out in our hotel room. I guess I had been on the phone all night with my guy (which I don't remember) so without me even realizing it, Kerry decided to spread peanut butter all over my arm and shoulder. Without these pictures I would have never known =)
The next morning, I woke up to a disastrous room, the spins, a throbbing head, a swollen ankle and scratches down my leg...and no real recollection of most of the night. As Heidi and I tried to put the pieces together, I looked through my blackberry messenger and found some pretty funny messages to my man. Wow, my phone really should have been OFF LIMITS that night! Sorry Dom, I'm a handful. Next time all the gals and I get together again, I plan to have a little more control over the night...but none the less, I had a great time and I'm glad I joined in on all the country music mayhem :)
Thanks, Heidi!

LA County Fair!

The LA Fair is up and running! I've been years ago but barely remember it and one other time last year for a field trip at work...supervising a group of kids the whole time, so I really didn't get to see or do much. This year, I went on opening weekend on Sunday with Dominic, Jon & Noelle and their baby, Chase. Jon's family met us there although we split up soon after we arrived.

It was a HOT day..I think in the 90s. All of us were sticky and sweaty by the end. Little Chase was feeling the heat, too. Dom kept him cool by wetting his little hat and shirt with cold water. Lucky guy's got a pretty sweet uncle!

A handsome one, too ;)

Because it was so hot, we pretty much had a beer, margarita, or mojito in our hand at all times. Wow, the drinks and food are EXPENSIVE! Just two 20 oz. cups of beer costs $18! We were glad to only have paid $1 for the entrance fee. We all indulged on fatty yet delicious fair food...you have to get the full fair experience. We ate tri-tip sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, hot dog on a stick, burrito, I had an amazing crepe and Dom and I split a fried s'more and fried twinkie. I surprisingly left the fair without actually purchasing any items.

So towards the end of our fair adventure, full of drinking, eating, walking, sweating, DRINKING, walking, checking out merchandise, petting zoos and more WALKING...Noelle and I had the idea to be "ejected"...um, A LOT...of feet into the air in this 2-person seat attached to bungee cords. "Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit" is what I kept repeating and after coming back down Noelle chimes in with "I'm glad I'm drunk" :) We actually bought the DVD footage of our daring experience! Hopefully I can figure out how to put it on the computer and on HERE for your viewing and listening pleasure.

We ended our night with a free concert of country singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. That was my favorite part of the day...aww ;)

I had a pretty rad time hanging out with good people and chatting it up all day with Noelle. Dom and I were just talking this morning about going to the fair a second time this year. This time we won't spend so much $$ and beer and food and actually try to see more shows and fun demonstrations...and on a MUCH cooler day.

I'm signed up...

...for 6 weeks of butt-kicking workouts. West Coast Boot Camp by my house was having a super duper deal going from $499 to $199 for their 6-week program. About 7 or so other friends and co-workers of mine jumped on the bandwagon, too. We'll be up with the sun to start sweating at 5:30am every week day and I'm more than thrilled about it. No, really...I can't wait. I love early morning workouts, and usually mine begin around 5am so I'm totally cool with this.

A little getaway is already in the works to celebrate our hard work at the end...and of course our new and slimmer shape :) So what better place to do that than in Vegas, right?? Girls' weekend in Vegas = trouble...or so I've been told by my concerned man-friend. Haha. He's got nothin' to worry about. Anyways, we start after the holiday on Tuesday the 8th. Woohoo
